The technology giant Google has asked to update its Chrome browser to avoid security flaws. The company announced that they found a vulnerability that compromises the security of their users.
Without giving too many details that would benefit hackers, Google announced that it had found an “exploit” (a piece of software designed to take advantage of flaws in the computer system) so they announced they are already working on an emergency update for Chrome (99.0.4844.84).
The security warning was announced on the company’s official blog, stating that Chrome on macOS, Windows, and Linux are vulnerable to a “Zero Day” attack. This means that the vulnerability in the system is known to hackers before Google can fix the issue. This security issue affects only browser users on computers.
A Zero-Day attack is considered one of the most dangerous forms of attack, which is why Google announced on his official blog that the details of the bug will not be revealed until most users are updated with a solution.
The stable channel has been updated for Windows, Mac, and Linux which will roll out over the coming days or weeks. Update your browser and be protected by following this procedure:
Go to Settings > Help > About Google Chrome> Select Update Google Chrome.
